Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

On my Legion Go S, my Legion Go 1, and my MSI Claw 8, I am unable to install certain games onto my internal SSD while in gamescope-session unless I insert an SD card or switch to desktop mode and use the desktop Steam client. If I try to install these particular games in gamescope-session, pressing the Install button appears to have no tangible effect other than creating a sound effect.

I have plenty of free storage on all devices - my internal SSD on my Go S has 900GB free as it is a fresh install, and is what I primarily used to test for this bug. For some titles, also listed below, I am able to install them from within gamescope-session without any workarounds necessary.

Titles in my library affected by this bug

  1. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (1903340) [Steam Deck Playable, SteamOS Compatible]
  2. Avowed (2457220) [Steam Deck Playable, SteamOS Compatible]
  3. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (1771300) [Steam Deck Playable, SteamOS Compatible]
  4. Assassin's Creed Odyssey (812140) [Steam Deck Playable, SteamOS Compatible]
  5. Lies of P (1627720) [Steam Deck Playable, SteamOS Compatible]

Titles in my library NOT affected by this bug

  1. Assassin's Creed Shadows (3159330) [Steam Deck Verified, SteamOS Compatible]

  2. L.A. Noire (110800) [Steam Deck Playable, SteamOS Compatible]
EDIT: L.A. Noire only worked because I got a pop-up stating this game was installed on another drive when attempting to install)

  3. The Last of Us: Part II (2531310) [Steam Deck Verified, SteamOS Compatible]

  4. Ghost of Tsushima (2215430) [Unsupported, Unsupported]

  5. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (2677660) [Steam Deck Verified, SteamOS Compatible]

This issue does not occur on my Steam Deck at all with any game.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. On Legion Go S, try to install Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Pressing the install button will do absolutely nothing

  1. Now try inserting an SD card and installing the same game

You will get a prompt to pick which drive you want to install, and choosing the internal drive will work

  1. Now try removing the SD card, and going to desktop mode to install it there

You will be able to install the game from there

Looks like I can also download Playable games if I get a message that a local transfer from another PC is available. Maybe since that's a different dialogue box as well?
