Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When using any Wayland application (native or through Proton-GE 10-1 or above with the launch option from below.), Steam Input and Steam Overlay and Steam Game Recording do not work at all and trying to run Steam through gamescope with --expose-wayland does not help either.

I am guessing this is because of Steam not having a native Wayland client.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Boot up any Wayland only application through Steam as a non-Steam game or launch any windows game through that is Proton-GE 10-1 or above while using PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 %command% in the launch options or launch Counter-Strike 2 with the line at 69 edited in cs2.sh to say export SDL_VIDEO_DRIVER=wayland instead of export SDL_VIDEO_DRIVER=x11.
  2. Try to use your controller binds as set by Steam Input or try to press Shift + Tab for the overlay or try to look at the game recording on the game's library page on Steam.
