Do you have steam haptics enabled? For myself, I just realized this was what has been preventing my Switch Pro controller from having its gyro features enabled, and disabling it let gyro work properly again. I must've toggled it at some point.
Thanks for your reply!
I can't find a setting called steam haptics. Where can I find this? It's neither in the controller settings nor in the game specific settings.
Should be under Settings>Controller under whatever controller name you have with a bunch of other toggles. Same sub-menu as callibration, external gamepad settings, etc. For me it's under the game rumble toggle. If not that, unsure. This is using the Flatpak Steam and I have the steam-devices package installed as well which provides udev rules for contollers iirc.
I'm afraid, I don't have this setting. My cntroller settings look like this.

Thank you so much, it worked for me after installing that.

Hi, community!
After using windows for a few years, I now switched to Ubuntu 25.04. Everything seems to work fine, only I can't get the gyro of the switch pro controller running.
In the game's library page (in this case Avowed or Stalker 2) i can open "controller settings" and "edit layout". There exists a tab called gyro. In there I can choose behaviour "as mouse". But if I change to another tab and then back to gyro, it's again set to "none". Also, no matter which gyro behaviour I select, there don't appear any options to configure the input.
In the layout overview of the controller, gyro isn't mentioned at all.
I'm running Steam from the Snap package on a freshly installed Ubuntu 25.04. When I connect the controller via bluetooth (gyro works neither with cable nor bluetooth), I get following dmesg output:
I'm not sure if, because of the last line, Steam considers the controller to be an X-Box controller without gyro?
Any help is very welcome!
