  • GPU: AMD Van Gogh RDNA 2.0 (Steam Deck) and RX 7800XT (Desktop)

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

After having viewed an image carousel on a title's Store Page, pressing B to back out of it will cause the user to be return to the page prior to the Store Page. You therefore don't have a way of closing the image carousel without first leaving and returning to the Store Page.

EDIT: This also affects news entries under the Recent Events & Announcements section on store page.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Navigate to any title's Game Details Page.
  2. Under the Game Info tab, select Store Page.
  3. Press down a few times until you reach the image carousel.
  4. Press A to select the carousel (if the carousel has videos press right to skip over them first).
  5. Press B.

Reproduction Rate: 5/5

Affected Platforms

  • LCD / Jupiter: Yes
  • OLED / Galileo: Yes
  • Desktop Deck-like session (gamescope -e -- steam -gamepadui -steamdeck): Yes
  • Desktop: Yes, in Big Picture Mode

Actual result

  • Pressing Back while on an image carousel returns you to the page prior to opening the Store Page (e.g Game Details Page, Library, Search Results).

Expected result

  • This issue only occurs when selecting an image from the carousel. Users interact differently with videos and backing out of them correctly returns you to the Store Page.

Notes

This issue was fixed a little while back, Steam Stable (1757650573) and Beta (1758671554) release. https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/11814 is however still valid as the Store Page's gallery will still ocassionally fail to register gamepad input.
