EDIT: As of June 30th 2025, the Day Gone startup movie now plays correctly on startup, wake and preview.

The Invincible Flies and Days Gone startup movie fail playback on startup, wake, and preview. Both movies are completely skipped or appear as a few seconds of black frame on startup / wake. On preview, the Days Gone video never works and the user must press B to back out of it. The Invincible Flies will function in preview after attempting playback 3 times (it can be observed as completely black, just audio or plays back correctly). Curiously, if the user attempts to preview them prior to downloading them they both play back correctly.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Navigate to Steam -> Settings -> Customization.
  2. Highlight the The Invincible Flies or Days Gone startup movie.
  3. Press Y to preview them.

  • The Invincible Flies and Days Gone startup movie playback correctly on startup / wake / preview.

As of the June 30th 2025 Steam Stable release (1751405894), the Days Gone startup movie now plays correctly on startup, wake and preview. The Invincible Files startup movie however is still broken as originally reported.

This issue is resolved on the most recent Steam Stable (1785799196) / Beta (1787097529) release.
