Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

UI becomes unusuable after cancelling Back up game files dialog with Esc. Must restart client to fix.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. In Steam Library, right-click a game and select Manage → Back up game files…
  2. Without clicking anything, press Esc key
  3. Dialog box closes, but entire client main window remains shaded and doesn't respond to mouse.

Something changed in either 2025-06-30 or 2025-09-09 client update. It no longer allows the unusable state, but keyboard accessibility is still terrible.

  • No focus indicator.
  • Esc doesn't work, unless you Tab first (which invisibly moves focus to the path text label) then Esc closes the modal.
  • Also try Tab 3 times then Space—you can "activate" the inactive Create Backup button and make it flash blue repeatedly :)
