+1 We really need to see an integrated option within Steam to allow the user to rotate their display.
Devices that aren't known should show a prompt during first boot to allow you to specify the correct orientation of the display.
+1 on this, I got a Retroid Dual Screen and it really breathes new life into the LCD Steam Deck. However, I can really only use it with Desktop Mode as the display gets detected as 1080*1920

Currently, if you want to adjust the rotation of a panel in gamescope, you need to explicitly set the orientation with
--force-orientationor you need to ensure your fbcon is rotated with a panel_orientation setting. However, gamescope should be able to handle these DRM rotations on-the-fly which would give us the option of adding a rotation property to the Steam display settings.Having both a manual rotation option, and optionally a gyro rotation feature, would be very useful for tablets capable of running SteamOS like the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 with Strix Halo.
