This also happens for other sounds, like message notifications. I found this issue hard to find with my keywords not being about friends joining. Could the title be adjusted? Or better yet, the issue addressed? No workarounds seem to stick.

i do not want to get any wobbly notification sounds but steam client regularly plays wobbling sound when a friend is online.
