I use cheap GameSir t4 Nova light controller. Steam input recognized by Steam but not the game. Turning steam input off solves the problem but it's not possible to turn it off for Remote play. The only game in my library that still work with Steam input is Portal 2 both on host machine and on mini PC via remote play.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Launch steam.
Check Steam input is enabled
Launch game (not developed by Valve cos Portal 2 works fine)
Check if game receives inputs from the controller.
