Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Steam doesn't respect the user selected compatibility tool when launched with -steamdeck and instead use the Proton selected by Valve Testing.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Run steam -steamdeck.
  2. Go to Settings > Compatibility Tools > Select Proton Expermental. Restart client.
  3. Select a game > Show game details (i in a circle icon).

Hello @Revival8697, when running the Steam client as if it's on a Steam Deck, the Steam Deck Verified test results takes priority over the global default compatibility tool. This is is the current intended behavior for that mode of running Steam.

If you want Steam to run the game with a different compatibility tool, then you can set that in the per-game properties for that game.
