I have this issue as well on the deck variant of Bazzite. That seems very odd, because the "Guide Button Chord Layout" setting is available when installing the Steam client on other linux desktops.
This is still an issue in modern steam OS today.i can't find a way to rebuild it like I can on windows via Steam OS or Bazzite.

my girlfriend has noticed that on Steam Deck the "Guide Button Chord Layout" setting is not present in the Controller tab of the Steam settings (neither in gaming nor in desktop mode).
However, the settings can still be access by reconfiguring the shortcuts in the Game Recording settings.
Is there a reason for these settings being so hidden, or is it an oversight? Being able to easily see and reconfigure what the Steam button does would be very useful on Steam Deck.
