Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Games dont reliably start background recording. Sometimes my game would crash and maybe that throws off the steam recording feature to where it will not record the game when i restart it.

Sometimes steam will record but then when i try to export into a video file of any kind, it returns an error "unable to retrieve clip information(2)".

I did notice that if i force close the game Alt+f4, the steam recording suddenly cant make clips off of what it recorded while still being viewable and saveable on steam itself. However it wont let me export to save it on drive.

Its very hard to pinpoint what exactly is causing these issues but this is making steam recording suddenly very unreliable which only started happening recently like a couple months ago.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

reproduce Issue for failure to export:

1. Game crashes.
2. restart game, play the game for a couple more minutes.
3. force close app instead of exiting the game naturally.
4. check your recording and try to add markers or export. It usually wont let you export at all and will give error:(2)

Reproduce issue where steam record just does not record anything:
