Steps for reproducing this issue:

1. Install Arch Linux w/ Nvidia DKMS w/ Wayland
2. Install Steam
3. Use Proton GE 10-25 as default compatability option
4. Launch "Rise of the tomb raider" w/ Remote Play from steam deck or steam link
5. Observe black screen on remote play client (SteamDeck or SteamLink)

I have tried every combination thinkable for about 6 hours on end, including but not limited to:

• Disabling hardware acceleration on remote play server (ArchLinux PC)
• Disabling NVFBC for video capture on remote play server (ArchLinux PC)
• Trying a different proton version
• Trying switching from Gnome DE -> KDE DE
• Try launching Steam under gamescope
• Try changing display settings at OS level (refresh rate, resolution, disable HDR)
• Try changing display settings in game settings
• Try launching the game from the remote play server, then connecting after game is running
• Try streaming FROM steamdeck -> ArchLinux PC (steamdeck also uses proton GE by default, but an older version)

The only thing that worked, was overriding the game to use "Proton 9.0.4" on my ArchLinux PC and then remote play clients rendered the screen as expected, but I didn't have my save file and didn't want to manually manage that...

Games that worked:

• Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom
• Is This Game Trying to Kill Me?
• God of War
• Horizon Zero Dawn

Games that did not work:

• Rise of the Tomb Raider
