not asking for support for this but i rm -rf the proton prefix for cyberpunk 2077 while trouble shooting it not launching (prolly because of my ~500 mods), and sense i was begin stupid i forgot that also where the save data is stored so i deleted my save data, upon realizing this i checked steam cloud and found only 1 file that had a blank save on it. so i lost my save data (then immediately ran photorec so i hopefully didn't loose my save data).
not making this a woe is me report, but i feel like there should have been a check for if the file size of save file is significantly smaller then the one in the cloud there should be a prompt or a backup period where both are kept as a simple check to prevent this. i was 200 hrs into the game and on my second play threw and saved regularly so i assume the save file was quite large.
