I started experiencing crashes to GDM since a few days when launching flatpak Steam on Fedora 43, but I can't reproduce it the way @aliasbody describes, or perhaps there is more nuance. It seems to happen when launching Steam after the system has been running for a while doing various things.

Nvm, mine seem to reflect https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/12530
Perhaps this is the case for this issue author as well?
