Have you checked for updates in Settings > System?: Yes
I tried to join a game using a steam join-lobby link. In the past, it use to work on steam deck, but recently it has stopped working. I have tried with both firefox and chrome (flatpak) and neither seem to properly redirect these links through steam. Whether you A) Click “join game” on a users profile, or B) paste a steam link url into your browser, neither would function correctly.
I am able to join games by passing these join links directly to steam via the terminal, thought I have a brief instance where it did not work even with an open lobby. I manually mapped the MIME type for steam in mimeapps.list and it seems to fix it in that one instance when using the terminal. However, this did not fix the methods to join through firefox or chrome.
Steps to reproduce
Open Chrome/Firefox/Web Browser of choice (ideally as a flatpak)
Paste an active join-lobby link into the browser’s url bar, or click the “join game” button on a friend’s or user’s steam profile while they are in a multiplayer session.
