Reproduced w/ Fedora 43, flatpak, also b580.
Seeing the similar issues with a fully up to date CachyOS install and radeon 6900xt but rather than a loop, it segfaults.
Started occuring after some updates for mesa drivers this week. Also opened a forum thread over in the cachyos forums and attempted to try some of the other users ideas to no avail.

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
I have an old system with DDR3, an old motherboard without ReBar support and a new Intel Arc B580. I installed both CachyOS and Bazzite and couldn't get steam to launch at all. No matter what startup flags I fed it, and I even tried flat pak. Eventually I gave up, but I have collected the following logs and I am looking forward to a hopeful diagnosis and eventual fix, even though my "use-case"/build might be not as common.
I suspect that the unusual GPU and outdated MB combo might be the issue here, but maybe it is something different too.
Before and afterwards I tried with Windows 11 and Steam works fine there.

Steps for reproducing this issue:
Install newest CachyOS build or Bazzite. Bazzite doesn't even boot to the fullscreen steam, just black screens and I have to move into Desktop using the terminal. CachyOS starts into the Desktop, everything "works" but after installing gaming packages (also tried the Arch Wiki for Steam setup instructions) steam does not work.
Starting via the terminal doesn't do anything either, so does flatpak.
