System:

  • Ubuntu 25.10
  • Kernel: (paste uname -r)
  • GPU: Intel Arc B580 (Battlemage)
  • Driver: xe (not legacy i915)
  • Desktop: GNOME Wayland
Image Image

Issue:
Steam reports "0 bytes VRAM" in performance overlay and system info.

Evidence this is a Steam bug:

  • Kernel correctly reports VRAM via dmesg:
    [drm] Total VRAM: 0x0000000300000000
  • Vulkan sees device-local heaps correctly (vulkaninfo confirms).
  • Games run and allocate VRAM normally.
  • Occurs on both Wayland and Xorg.

Likely cause:
Steam/DXVK VRAM detection does not yet handle the new Intel xe driver memory model.

Request:
Update VRAM detection for Intel xe / Battlemage GPUs.
