Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I am currently unable to choose which copy of a game to use from my steam family. Both the family member and I had the game "Bioshock 2 Remastered". I used his copy at the time for some reason despite neither of us having the DLC. I purchased the DLC recently and cannot select my copy in the "change preferred copy" option. It always goes back to his copy.

We have a total of three copies in the family of this game. The copies belong to me and family members A and B. A is the copy currently in use, I can't swap to mine, as I said above it always goes back to his. I can however swap to B's copy without issue, but as soon as I try to use mine, it snaps back to A's.

Not entirely sure why I would use his copy at all though. Maybe he had the DLC at some point? Can't remember.

Might be worth mentioning that as far as I can tell, it only happens in this specific game.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

Not entirely sure, but here goes:

  1. Join steam family;
  2. Own a copy of the game and use a family member's copy;
  3. Purchase DLC they do not own;
  4. Become unable to go back to your copy.

Im on windows, but have the same issue. I bought my own copy of Warhammer 3 after borrowing and buying a DLC my family doesnt own, but now i can't select my own copy so my DLC is worthless.

Nothing extracted yet.
