Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): 0.20251201.0+srt1

  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Manjaro

  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No

  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

  • Steam Logs: steam-logs.tar.gz

  • GPU: AMD 7800 Rx

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

After updating Manjaro to January update no games start through Steam, the only exception has been Slay the Spire (I guess its because its a Java game), I can start games that do not use Steam DRM by executing the .exe with Lutris, Faugus or just through terminal.
Before last update everything worked fine without problems since August 2024 (same installation of Manjaro with monthly updates)

Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen. Please link any large code pastes as a Github Gist

Game should open, didn't open but stayed "Launching" on Steam GUI

Steam Runtime Diagnostics

PROTON_LOG=1 outputs
steam-881100.log
// Had to compress this
steam-3109580.tar.gz
steam-1984270.tar.gz

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Click play on Steam Library (both native or with Proton, with the exception of Java games like Slay the Spire)
  2. Steam says Launching and ends stuck there
  3. Nothing happens

Fixed

Manjaro has released a new update that upgrades Mesa from 25.3.2-1 to 25.3.3-1 and this fixed everything.
