Hi, can you please explain how the global setting works?
Does it act as a "simple" preference for the per-game overrides (I noticed that having global Proton-GE and enabling a per-game override defaults to Proton-GE then) or does/should work as a "real" global setting making all games sticking to this without per-game overrides?
Just wanted to know if I'm getting this wrong or it's not working as expected.

The priority order goes: Per-game Steam Play override setting > Manual Valve pinning > Linux native games > Global Steam Play override setting.
Thanks for confirming that, was having an hard time understanding it as everything online points to what I was thinking it would do instead of what it actually does.
Would it be possible to add a "proper" override globally?

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
I have downloaded the latest GE-Proton and set it as the global default in Settings -> Compatibility -> Run other titles with: GE-Proton (Latest).
However, Steam ignores this global setting and continues to launch games using the standard Proton 10.0-3. I have verified this behavior because I am using an RDNA 4 GPU (RX 9070) and I specifically need GE-Proton to access FSR 4 features (upgrading FSR 3 to FSR 4 and enabling native FSR 4).
When launching titles like Dying Light: The Beast without per-game overrides, the FSR 4 options are missing (indicating stock Proton is being used). If I manually force a specific compatibility tool (Per-Game Override) to GE-Proton, the game launches correctly with FSR 4 features enabled.
