This is a minor issue ‐ I have Wargame installed onto another library from my main one (disk space, who needs it). Launched Steam after a system restart, it did not know I had the game installed because the library’s drive was not mounted, but rather than remind me the library is missing, or I cannot play the game, it shows ‘install’.
Mounting the drive does not get detected by Steam so the game is listed as not installed until I restart the client and it picks up the library as existing.
Possibly a feature request, though confusing gui could be a bug. Unsure.

mount than restart steam works for me I syslinked my steamapps folder from windows to my linux one however I could not launch games because I did not set proper flags I believe.

But this is a common problem with unmounted drives may I suggest you set up a cronjob or a script to mount before starting steam?

If you got syslink to work and launch games successfully can you please help me?

This is the default behaviour of Ubuntu unless you tweak it yourself ‐ being able to mount/unmount parts that contain a steam library without needing to restart steam would be awesome. But it is a low priority feature…

I think this is more an issue of detecting a drive as soon as it is mounted : If you add a new steam folder, containing existing games, those will show up immediately in the steam library.
There should be a way to manually refresh the library without restarting the client (F5?), or steam should detect a newly mounted disks, and check if there's a "steam folder" there. I think this can be done with dbus, Please see issue #3008 for a bit more information on dbus ;-)
