Free-to-play games should now correctly mention that they can't be remotely controlled. There's a Steam for Linux fix coming also but it isn't Linux-specific so we aren't tracking it here.
I think yesterday's beta client has the fix for F2P games. Do you still see it after updating?
@gdrewb-valve The option to install these games has been removed and replaced with the expected text, aside from calling Steam for Linux a game with the rest of them, this issue is resolved.

When I goto my profile -> Games -> All Games there is two anomalies on this page, first, free to play games offer an option to install, even though they are not available for linux.

And second, Steam for Linux is marked as Not Installed.
