Context:
Currently, enabling Feral GameMode on Linux requires users to manually add gamemoderun %command% to the launch options of every single game. This creates unnecessary friction and is not user-friendly for newcomers or those on immutable/atomic distributions like Fedora Kinoite where GameMode is often pre-installed but stays unused by default.

The Proposal:
I suggest implementing a native, global integration for GameMode within the Steam Client:

Auto-detection via D-Bus: Steam should check if the org.feralinteractive.GameMode service is available on the host system.

Global Toggle: Add an option in Settings > Compatibility to "Automatically run all games with GameMode when available".

Seamless Experience: This would bring the background optimization logic of SteamOS to the Linux Desktop client, bridging the gap between "tinkerers" and "gamers".

Why this matters:
In 2026, Linux gaming should move away from manual "terminal-style" tweaks. A global toggle would provide a "it just works" experience similar to a console.

System Info:

OS: Fedora Kinoite (Atomic/Immutable)

Steam Version: Flatpak

Feature target: Steam Desktop Client
