On my Steam Deck, whenever I'm playing a game in Desktop Mode, the STEAM + X shortcut does nothing, even though it's supposed to bring up the virtual keyboard. I tried to bind the "Show keyboard" action to the Y button using Steam Input on multiple games, and it still does absolutely nothing.
All other STEAM button shortcuts work properly when in-game in Desktop mode, so it seems that the problem stems from the "Show keyboard" action itself.
The STEAM + X shortcut works in Gaming Mode, which means the only way for me to play a game like Geometry Dash properly is to exit Desktop Mode and go back to Gaming Mode every time.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Turn on Steam Deck, switch to Desktop Mode
Wait for Steam client to open, then launch a Steam game
Try the STEAM + X shortcut
Additionally, go into Steam Input for the game you launched, set some button to do the "Show keyboard" action, go back to the game and hit the button
