What I'm attempting:
I have my PC with wired Ethernet (System information above) hosting a game; in todays case, DooM: The Dark Ages. This is being connected to by the Steamdeck OLED using Wifi (5Ghz) for playing on my bedroom TV.

What's Happening:
When attempting to play certain games using Steam Remote Play I get audio but just a black screen. Sometimes I can see the cursor, sometimes it plays audio but the loading banner never stops. Affected games I've run into is Cyberpunk 2077, DooM: The Dark Ages, Oblivion: Remastered. I'm sure there are more I've not tried to play that would behave the same.

What I've tried / noticed:
I have tried every variation of "Use NVFBC Capture on NVIDIA GPU", "Enable hardware encoding", "Hardware Decoding", "Low latency Networking" on both the host and client. I've tried different versions of the NVIDIA drivers. I've tried installing Steam Link through Discovery on the Steamdeck and adding that as a non-steam game to stream Steam from within Steam (my head hurts w.w) and I get the exact same behavior. Plenty of other games stream absolutely fine so the connection is more then capable of handshaking in my current setup. I'm more then willing to supply any additional logs and hardware/software data to aid in finding a solution for this. I am a recent convert to GNU/Linux, so if you go throwing a bunch of commands at me it may go over my head a bit, but I'm trying.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Stream the game "DooM: The Dark Ages" from a Linux host to a Steam Deck, or Steam Link.

Hello @BiacTYK, this issue is already being tracked in several issue reports with #6148 being the center of discussion.

Closing in favor of the older issue reports.

Happy to send the logs either way, I hope you guys can figure it out! I'm sure all the devs would love the bugs to have one easy fix but alas.

Nothing extracted yet.
