Some devices which are used in steam big picture mode in SteamOS (some variants of models of ROG Ally, and other Linux distributions have working fingerprint drivers, adding an option to use the fingerprint sensor in place of the pin is a minor quality of life improvement (sure a 6 digit pin isn't that inconvenient but 6 button presses instead of one touch).
This would require using libfprint and could at first just be to sign in on boot/resume, with enrollment taking place in desktop mode, and maybe later adding a UI to enroll in big picture mode (with a warning that enrolling in linux will break it on windows and so on).
