Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I have an 8BitDo Ultimate C Wired Controller for Xbox. lsusb lists it as "Bus 003 Device 009: ID 2dc8:2027 8BitDo 8BitDo Ultimate C Wired Controller for Xbox". I initially used the in-kernel xpad module which showed up in dmesg as "input: Generic X-Box pad as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb3/3-1/3-1.3/3-1.3:1.0/input/input25". I then switched to the out-of-tree xone-wired kernel module which caused dmesg to report "input: Microsoft Xbox Controller as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb3/3-1/3-1.3/3-1.3:1.0/gip0/gip0.0/input/input28".

However, regardless of which kernel module I use, the Steam client says "Unknown Controller Support" on each individual game page in my Steam library. If I go to Settings -> Controller, it does show up as "MICROSOFT XBOX CONTROLLER". And the controller does work with most games (e.g. Brotato). However, some games (like Rocket Rats) that apparently do have controller support but are apparently really picky about which controllers it supports do not work with it or even recognize that a controller is present. But even the games that do function with this controller do not recognize it as an Xbox controller.

I previously used a PDP brand Xbox 360 controller which worked without any issue using the in-kernal xpad driver and was successfully recognized as an Xbox controller by Steam and all games. So I don't know if the issue I'm having now is because this new controller is an 8BitDo brand or if it is because it is an Xbox One rather than an Xbox 360 controller.

Nothing extracted yet.
