Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Steam's "Global Default" compatibility setting fails to apply the same device-masking/sandboxing as the "Forced Override," even when the Proton versions are identical.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Use an Arch-based distribution (CachyOS) with a community Proton build (Proton-CachyOS).
Set the "Global Compatibility" tool in Steam Settings to the latest Proton-CachyOS build.
Launch Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip (or any Godot 4 title) with no manual compatibility override set in Game Properties.
Observe "Phantom Right" input in menus/shops (likely caused by unmasked host sensors/accelerometers being picked up by the engine).
Exit the game and go to Game Properties > Compatibility.
Check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" and select the exact same version of Proton-CachyOS used in Step 2.
Relaunch the game and observe that the phantom input is now correctly masked/gone.
PROTON_LOG=1 shows the same proton versions and environment flags, which indicates this to be an inconsistency with Steam Linux Runtime / pressure-vessel.
I'm not sure if this issue persists with other official versions of proton - I got a black screen after testing stable and experimental branches, but I suspect it would on other distros/proton versions.
