This is particularly problematic on screens which resolution is 1024x600: taking into account the surface needed by the panels (1 panel 32px in Ubuntu and Gnome3, 2x32px for gnome2, etc.) makes an available height of less than 600px.

Please include your system information as requested at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux#reporting-issues

Are you referring to heights less than 600 in game or the client itself? My screen resolution is 1024x600 (gotta love netbooks) and it utilizes only available screen area.

I have the same problem on my netbook. The steam window is just a few pixels too high. You can see it in the lower right corner at the avatar which is cut off.

You can see it also well when steam is downloading something, because the progress bar is right at the edge of the screen.

Yes I meant the client. My desktop and screen native resolution is 1024x600 but because of the panel I really only have 568 pixel available in height. In the following screen you can see that the uper panel goes over the Steam client.

I didn't post my system specs because I thought they were not relevant to this specific bug: the 600px lower limit in on the client no matter what computer or Linux distribution you are using. Hence my mentions of gnome 2, 3, Unity, etc.

Update: It finally started happening on my end with xfwm4.

Still happens, at least on KDE Plasma from my testing.

Nothing extracted yet.
