Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When both the new Steam Controller Puck and the old Steam controller (2015) dongle are connected, when Steam starts up, the new Steam controller is not connected to Steam input, it only gets Lizard Mode. In the controller settings interface, the puck only shows three pairing slots, excluding the first one taken by the new controller. The old controller can be turned on and picked up by steam input normally. When the old controller dongle is unplugged, the puck's 1st slot for the new controller shows up or is detected and that new controller works as expected. The old controller dongle works alongside after it is replugged at this point. Appears to be some kind of collision or stepping on the puck's toes in some way.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Both puck and 2015 dongle plugged in to the system
  2. Start Steam
  3. Turn on New Steam Controller
  4. It isn't detected by Steam, slot in Controller Settings > puck is missing
  5. Turn on Old Steam Controller (works normally)
  6. Unplug Old Steam Controller dongle
  7. New Steam Controller and its Puck Slot are detected by Steam
  8. Replug Old S.C. dongle, both work as expected

There was a pending firmware update for puck & controller, here are the logs with the same behavior, after updating:
