Steam is crashing after the latest beta update

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I updated my system some minutes ago, restarted, opened Steam, it downloaded an update and now its crashing, it doesnt open at all, I'm using the SteamRT3 beta too, yesterday was fine with the May 13th beta update. One more info, I've set my Steam to open on the library tab.

Update: this doesnt seems to be related to the SteamRT3 beta, i deleted the file .steam-enable-steamrt64-clienton the Steam folder and it still doesnt open, the error changed of course, linking to the .local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_64/steamwebhelper instead of the steamrt3 folder

Apparently this doesn't have anything to do with the latest beta, I don't know what is going on with my system, but Discord isn't opening too... This is probably something that I've updated yesterday that is causing trouble with Steam and Discord...

I disabled the beta by deleting the beta file in the steam directory, and it still doesnt open, but something changed, the system tray icon doesnt appear but the Steam dialog to restart steam, restart webview and etc appears, on the beta this wasnt appearing at all

Ok so, I discovered what the issue is, for some reason if I set the environment variable for fcitx5, so I've put # on the following variables to disable them

/etc/environment

#GTK_IM_MODULE=wayland
XMODIFIERS=@im=fcitx5
#QT_IM_MODULES=wayland;fcitx5;ibus
#QT_IM_MODULE=fcitx5
SDL_IM_MODULE=wayland

But the cause of the issue appears to be only the GTK_IM_MODULE=wayland, unsetting this or changing to fcitx5 instead of wayland, it opens normally. This also appears to affect discord too, both Xwayland programs, unfortunately I can't type chinese characters on both of them. Hopefully when CEF Wayland arrives we can get Steam to use Wayland and Wayland input method protocol

I'll close this issue.
