Steam client version (build number or date): 1779486452
Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Cachyos
Opted into Steam client beta?: No
Have you checked for system updates?: Yes
GPU: Nvidia/Intel/AMD
a few weeks ago I updated my cachyos-bore install to the new 7.0 version and soon began experiencing a strange issue where steam would randomly crash both itself and freeze whatever steam game I'm playing, sometimes it'd crash after a few minutes and sometimes after a couple of hours. Eventually after some trouble shooting I switched to cachyos from arch which still didn't solve the issue. my specs are: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT with 31.26 GiB of memory
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Open steam with cachyos 7.0+ kernel
Play a game
Crash any from a few minutes to a few hours
Edit: After some more research I discovered this is likely an issue with my power supply since most the games I play use a lot of my pc's resources and I do have a rather old power supply which may be giving me an inconsistent voltage + I have not seen this issue reported anywhere else as of the last month. I'll close this for now
