i have replicated this issue with the steam runtime enabled and with the steam beta

basically i was having a issue where for the life of me i was completely unable to get my controller configs to apply at all and games where all using the default xbox like control scheme, and steam was also semi using the desktop config simultaneously with the bottom buttons still inputting keys from a keyboard like enter and super, as well as the x button still launching the steam keyboard. removed the PROTON_USE_WAYLAND=1 flag from my game and everything started working perfectly and all the issues magically went away, issue is i want HDR and i need the games to run under Wayland for that.
