Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Under a game's settings, in the General tab, there is an option for "Maximum Game Resolution". I expected this to change the resolution that the game runs at, and I am sure it did in the past. However it no longer seems to have any effect. Regardless of what it is set to, including very low resolutions like 640x480, the game runs at the Deck's native display resolution of 1280x800. Or at least the games report 1280x800 as the resolution in their settings, they don't look blurry or scaled, and the "Scaling Mode" option in the quick access menu has no effect.

I tested with the Final Fantasy XVI demo, Feed The Deep, and Celeste (which doesn't show its resolution) and all exhibit the same behaviour, so I don't think it's game specific. Nor does it seem to be specific to proton as Celeste runs natively.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Go into a game's settings.
  2. Change "Maximum Game Resolution" to a lower-than-native value
  3. Launch the game
  4. See that the game is still running at native resolution
