Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I'm not sure when exactly, but it's fairly well-documented online that the steam client once had an app_restore command to go with the app_backup and build_installer commands. At some point, the restore command seems to have been removed from the Steam Client with no explanation or alternative. This means that while there is extensive support for automatically creating a backup from CLI, the only way to restore these backups is by manually using the modal flow in the client GUI, which is inconsistent and annoying.

Please restore this command, provide a suitable alternative, or at least explain why it was removed. Also, this is a side note, but I also find it odd that there is a steam://backup URI but no corresponding steam://restore URI.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Open Steam Client with console
  2. find app no longer lists app_restore
  3. SteamCMD is also missing this command
