Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When attempting to type Chinese characters using either the Zhuyin input method or any other Chinese IME via the on-screen keyboard, the selected candidate words fail to enter the text field.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

(Zhuyin input method is used here for demonstration, but this issue affects all Chinese input methods)

  1. Enable a Chinese input method (e.g., Traditional Chinese - Zhuyin).
  2. Click on any text box to trigger the on-screen keyboard.
  3. Type any Chinese character and tap a candidate word on the on-screen keyboard.

Expected Behavior

The selected Chinese candidate word should appear in the text field.

Actual Behavior

No Chinese characters are entered. Instead, numbers are printed based on the length of the selected candidate word:

  • Selecting a single-character candidate inserts 1.
  • Selecting a two-character candidate inserts 12.
  • Selecting a three-character candidate inserts 123.
