Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): 2026-10-10
  • Distribution: 7.2.8-1-cachyos #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Sat, 26 Sep 2026 19:43:45 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes/No]: Yes
  • Have you checked for system updates?: [Yes/No]: Yes, I use paru regularly
  • Steam Logs: [generate by running this command in a terminal tar -zcvf ~/Desktop/steam-logs.tar.gz ~/.steam/steam/logs]
  • GPU: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 615.71.09 RTX 4090

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Wuthering Waves hangs, GPU utilization falls to zero if I'm using the overlay. I can trigger it by switching focus away and back to the window through alt or super tab or by navigating outside the window. It doesn't happen every time it loses focus, but fairly quickly.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Open Wuthering Waves and Log in with the overlay enabled
  2. Make the window lose focus a handful of times or less
  3. Game hangs

This appears to be specific to the combination of the latest 3.7 version of Wuthering Waves, whether using the Steam version of the launcher version over non-steam

My current command line for it is this, which was troubleshooting attempts towards arriving at the issue. That first one is the one that "fixed" the problem by disabling the overlay.

Hello @korodarn, I expect this is the same issue as #13709. Closing in favor of the older issue report.

That makes sense. I play other games it doesn't do that for, so for me it was just this game and at first I had blamed the game for it.
