It's expected that any newly released games for Linux would appear at the top of the list. To a large extent this does happen, but not always.
Counter-Strike (original) was released for Linux only a few days ago, yet it's at the very bottom of the list. The most recent game Dwarfs, is at the top of the list, but all it's DLC is much further down the list (don't think it's intentional...).
I believe there are some other examples of this, involving indie games appearing "hidden" further down the list and such, but have nothing to confirm right now. Whenever I'm looking for new Linux game on Steam, I always scroll down the full list to be sure.
