No, it should work out of the box. Just to make it clear, I'm not speaking about the mouse theme itself (which is also wrong; there is an open issue #825 for that problem in client itself), but about the cursor, this is similar to #600.

Confirmed for me. Using Kubuntu with the Oxygen cursor theme. This bug also showed up in Steam itself earlier, but was fixed.

The same right pointer issue is present in Half-Life 1 and Shank 2 as well.

For me it works correctly in both Half-Life and CS:S.

Its probably the same issue as before. I am using Openzone white with KDE 4.10 and its working. Think i did symlink some pointers before but not sure IF i did that with this one. However it works here.

I have same issue with FTL. On a normal steam window I have proper cursor. Using KDE 4.8.5.
