Based on the title, are we to infer that by going to "News" and selecting "My games" from the right side, you experienced a crash? Does this crash occur consistently when accessing that link or randomly?

If it occurs consistently, try running Steam from command line and seeing what errors occur.

I am unable to reproduce on Xubuntu 12.10 (32-bit).
