Can you post on those threads asking them to report bugs? It's a valid workaround, so I don't want to remove it, but I agree having the issues hidden should be fixed.
In this particular case it was a pulseaudio bug that was fixed on Monday.
Nothing extracted yet.
There have been more than a few posts on the discussion groups with proposed solutions to use ‘STEAM_RUNTIME=0 steam’ to solve issues, but that’s going to be hiding valid issues…
Might be useful to rename it once or twice just to catch some extra issues.
