So online is the new lan for people nowadays, any I've seen countless forum posts about people trying to just create a listen server to play with their friends, but it gets created on lan by default, and you have to explain them to change sv_lan every time. I think an option to start it as an online game would be a nice addition to the create server dialog in these games.

Not a bad suggestion, put a dropdown box like the HLDS GUI to select internet/lan in the game tab of the new game menu option.
