Search box does not automatically delete the "search the store" text when used.

The search box on the top right corner of the interface has a "search the store" text on in it by default. But when I click on and type in it, the text I type in does not replace the default text, it is only inserted in the original text.

Behaviour should be to delete the "search the store" text when anything is typed in the box.

I have this issue with localized (german) text in the search box.
When I open the store for the first time, it does not delete the text automatically.
After I deleted it by hand, it works, but shows the english text.

Also, I just noticed it only occurs on Linux Mint 13, not on Ubuntu 12.04 for me
