Steam not running

I got steam to update, but it wont run when i click on the icon in my desktop!

If you've installed steam using apt (.deb package), you should be able to run it just by executing steam in the console (as normal user, not root).
What Linux distribution are you using?

Did you resolve the issue yourself @JasonBreen ? It appears your graphics drivers need some poking.
