Steam general overlay within half life 1 appears transparent. I tried the other games but they work fine (with overlay) for me.
Unfortunatelly I don't know the right sequence when bug appears, but if I discover something I'll give as sign

Got on the following specs:
Ubuntu 12.10 x86, CPU Intel Core 2 Quad 6600, Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti (running on 310.32 drivers revision), 4GB RAM
