Same - had 5 games in my cart, visited the Steam for Linux Celebration Sale page and my cart emptied :/
I've had this a bunch of times since the linux sale started. I haven't made any purchases using the linux client yet so I cannot confirm if this problem is a regression or not.
There don't seem to be any obvious steps to reproduce this but given enough time and navigation between the store pages and cart the shopping cart will be destroyed. You may receive an error saying something like "The item could not be added to your cart" or it simply vanishes without any error or notification.
I get this as well, with no error displayed. Cart selection just vanishes from one page view to the other.
Hello, is anyone still experiencing this issue?
Closing pending feedback.
I just experienced this. I put about 7 games in my cart the other day, and I came back today looking to buy some, and I found the cart empty. Steam may have been shut down in the interim but I'm not sure. This has happened to me before.
this issue is not specific to Linux. It happens on all client platforms across Steam. The issue can be replicated whenever a new login is made with the same account in a different client. New tokens are generated and usually the shop cart is not only not carried or synchronized to the new login, it also gets erased/reset/emptied on the client that was previously logged in.
that's dumb and has been happening since basically ever, 2007 or so. A simple fix would be to synchronize the cart with the cloud instead of only relying on local cookies.
I replicated it by adding https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/481/Awesome_Bundle_by_New_Reality_Games/ to my shopping cart, to which it clears the entire cart after changing pages. Happens on the Windows and Linux application and web clients.
Nothing extracted yet.
This happened when I was trying to buy the games using the Steam client, I was selecting games and the shopping cart was showing the correct number of my order and I was clicking to continue to buy after every game, but them, the list just disapears and it start to count from 1 again (let´s say I wanted 10 games, I click on each of them up to the 9th, and then, when I click on the 10th, the list is gone and instead of adding the 10th game on the list, it starts counts as the first one). I tried this for 3 or 4 times and I just couldn´t do it (something strange happened, the button add to cart for the game Dynamite Jack didn´t appear, so, I couldn´t buy it through the client). The only way was to buy through the website, where I could complete the transaction normally.
