I think another update was done after, and the cap was removed again. Anyway if you want to cap your fps, just use fps_max.
The servers with long jump plugin will force my fps on 101...that's why i need this client limitation.
No, you need to ask the server admin to fix his plugin.
They won't know how to do it...and they don't quite care of changing the server just for me (ok..now for everyone, but..still, i request that feature back)
Well, if they want to kick all players from their servers, it's their problem. Why wouldn't they know how to do it? They're the one who installed the plugin in the first place.
It is a world-wide used plugin, it's pointless to argue about this...a lot of people want back the fps limitation (like developer) .
lol. Yes, I'm pretty sure all servers in the world are using the plugin, and that Valve should always remain compatible with any plugin, even if it prevents them from making enhancements.
fps_override is still live. There is a Steam client issue, you need to opt in BOTH Half-Life and Counter-Strike 1.6 to get the beta updates.
The problem is that you can't opt in HL1 beta if you don't have HL1.
Install HL1 too, it is a tiny incremental update once you have CS 1.6.
I can't install HL1. I don't own HL1. It doesn't show up in my game list.
Nothing extracted yet.
Half-Life 1 and Counter-Strike 1.6 BETA updated
scris de alfred @ 06:28AM on February 15, 2013
Changes in this update are:
Re-enabled a fps cap of 100. You can override this behavior if you want to run faster by setting fps_override to "1" but some mods may not behave properly
Fixed movement when running at more than 100fps
Added "speak_enabled" cvar, if set to 0 then the "spk" and "speak" commands are disabled
Added "edicts" option to liblist.gam file, for use in mods that want more than 900 entities in their maps
Increased supported entity count in Counter-Strike 1.6 to 1800
Well i don't have the fps_override command. And it installed me a 1.6 mb update.
