I think this is a driver problem, except for pnemubra I can drag all games accross screens if I have them in window mode.
I can't drag across as stated. Other programs work correctly going full screen even flash player!.
Client issue not driver.
Well, ruling out the possibility based on your simple observation is a very daring move.
Well have tested it will dual monitor? I've tried it with extended monitor and multi desktop.
All apps I have that call upon another executable run fine in full screen.
All apps themselves that have full screen mode work fine.
So therefore its a bit bold to assume its an issue of mine (driver) instead of the clients configuration.
I think you can set the desired screen in a few Valve titles.
Yes this is true. Problem that arises there is the game will stay on :0.0 . option fullscreen(0) is fullscreen. Option fullscreen(1) stays on :0.0 but in window mode and option window mode is a even smaller version of fullscreen(1).
None of these options are suitable.
Adding options like export Display doesnt work as it only applys to the steam client. Problem is the way steam is calling the games.
I have the same problem. I have my computer set up to have separate x servers for my two displays using nvidia-settings. I'm using Arch Linux, xorg-server 1.14.3, nvidia 325.15, linux kernel 3.11.1
any news about this problem?
Same issue here, with a dual-head setup with separate xscreens for each monitor, the Steam window that is already open on xscreen 1 will close and Big Picture Mode will open on xscreen 0.
Sabayon (Gentoo) x64, Linux 3.15, Nvidia 340.32, X-Server 11.0, KDE 4.13
I think the bug I'm encountering has the same source, although in my case (could be because I'm using i3-wm as window manager or something like that), the actual behaviour is a bit different.
I have two monitors, HDMI1 and HDMI2; HDMI2 is the primary montior. No matter which one has the current input focus, the small "Connecting steam account" window always appears on the primary monitor. The actual steam window shows up on the monitor I started Steam on though, so it's not so much of a problem.
It's still unexpected behaviour and should be fixed – along the other window manager problems which are probably related: #807, #3069
:+1: I also have this problem. I would like to choose which xscreen to start a game on
Same here, would like to choose the xscreen big picture mode starts on.
Nothing extracted yet.
I have 2 monitors. :0.0 and :0.1. Running multidesktop, so can't just drag windows between screens.
Steam its self seems fine but when I start a game or use big picture mode; even tho steam is on :0.1, it runs on :0.0 and there is no setting to change this.
Needs fixing immediatly, very inconvient.
Using:
xorg-server 1.13.1
Ati-drivers 12.11_beta11_r1
Gentoo kernel 3.6.11
