I was in the closed beta, so I got an obligatory "Team Fortress 2 Beta" in my library. Now that steam is out of beta, this entry is still there and cannot be removed. I do not have team fortress 2 installed, nor do I play it.

No, thats not it.
Normally, if you select "Delete local content" on a free game, it will stop appearing in your library. But it doesn't.

It’s attached to your account now; I believe if you contact Steam support you may be able to get it removed.
